Work to begin Monday on I-29 from near Sisseton to North Dakota border

WATERTOWN, S.D. – The South Dakota Department of Transportation says a project to reconstruct Interstate 29 from just north of Sisseton to the North Dakota border will begin in the northbound lanes on Monday, April 13, depending on weather.

Traffic will be placed in a two-way configuration in the southbound lanes with a reduced speed limit to 65 mph and a 13-foot width restriction.

Work on the project includes overlaying the existing pavement and improving bridge decks and guardrails.

The prime contractor on this $17 million project is Reede Construction of Aberdeen and is scheduled to be complete by November.
