One person died Friday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash north of Clear Lake.

Names have not yet been released pending notification of family.

The South Dakota Highway Patrol says it happened on U.S. Highway 212 when an eastbound pickup crossed the center line and struck the rear trailer tire of a westbound semi truck

The pickup ended up in a slough.

The 64-year-old woman driving the pickup died from injuries sustained in the crash. It has not been determined if she was wearing her seatbelt.

The 35-year-old male driver of the semi was not injured.
