Woman killed in car/pedestrian accident on I29 near Colman

One person died Saturday night in a vehicle-pedestrian crash near Colman.

According to the South Dakota Deparetment of Public Safety, a southbound S-U-V was in the driving lane of Interstate 29 when it struck a 34-year-old female walking on the roadway. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.

The male occupants of the car, the 29-year-old driver and a one-year-old passenger, were not injured. Both were wearing seat belts.

Names are not yet being released pending notification of family.

The Highway Patrol is investigating.
