Woman faces burglary, assault charges after incident at rural Bruce home

The Brookings County Sheriff’s Department makes an arrest after a break in and assault early Saturday morning at a rural Bruce residence.

Assistant Sheriff Scott Sebring says 20-year-old Elizabeth Hofer entered a motor vehicle and then broke into a home, damaging property while entering. Once inside, Sebring says Hofer assaulted a 47-year-old female.

The suspect left the residence and was later located by deputies at a home in Aurora. Hofer was arrested and is charged with burglary, criminal entry of a motor vehicle, simple assault domestic and vandalism.

The incident occurred at about 3:30 am.
