Volga home extensively damaged in Tuesday evening fire

A home in Volga receives extensive damage in a Tuesday evening fire.

The Volga and Brookings Fire Departments, Brookings Ambulance and Brookings County Sheriff’s Office responded to the fire shortly after 8:00 pm on the 100 block of Washington Road. The fire was extinguished by the fire departments.

Assistant Sheriff Scott Sebring says the home received an estimated $90,000 worth of damage.

The fire is believed to have started due to an electrical issue.
