Two people are hurt in a Monday morning accident on Highway 14 at 476th Avenue just east of Brookings.

Brookings County Assistant Sheriff Scott Sebring says a pickup driven by 18-year-old Kienan O’Connel of Aurora was stopped at the intersection and he did not see the approaching vehicle. O’Connel pulled onto Highway 14 and collided with an eastbound car driven by 34-year-old Roger Jennings of Echo, Minnesota. It happened at about 7:30 a.m.

There were five passengers in the Jennings vehicle and two of them, 32-year-old Skye Jennings and 11-year-old Terrek Jennings, were injured in the crash. Both were taken by ambulance to the Brookings Hospital with unknown injuries.

O’Connel was cited for a stop sign violation.
