Two COVID-19 deaths reported Thursday in South Dakota; active cases continue to fall

Two COVID-19 deaths reported in South Dakota Thursday, the total in now 1956.

Active cases in Brookings County decrease by 9 to 158. Total cases increase by 8 to 4134. There have been 37 deaths in Brookings County and there are 3,939 recovered cases. The ever hospitalized number is at 148. The County is in the “substantial” community spread category.

Statewide, active cases decrease by 90 to 1953. Total cases increase by 134 to 121,651. There are 117,742 recovered cases. Current Hospitalizations decrease by 8 to 107.

Fifty-three percent of the state has received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine. Some 548,271 vaccinations have been administered in the state to 320,189 people. A total of 20,024 doses have been given in Brookings County to 12,697 people.
