Two businesses fail an alcohol compliance check conducted Friday by the Brookings County Sheriff’s Department.

According to a release from Assistant Sheriff Scott Sebring, the two that sold to the 20-year-old buyer were the Steel Grit Bar & Grill in Bruce, and Six Mile Creek Golf Club in White.

In each case, the employee involved can be cited for furnishing alcohol to a minor. The businesses face possible fines and sanctions from the South Dakota Department of Revenue.

During the last check in January of 2018, no businesses made sales to the underage buyer.
