Tractor lost to fire near Arlington

The Arlington Fire Dept., Arlington Ambulance, Bruce Fire Dept., and the Brookings County Sheriff’s Office all respond to a Friday morning rural Arlington tractor fire. The fire was extinguished by the Arlington Fire Dept., but the John Deer Model 7400 was a total loss, estimated at $56,000.

Assistant Sheriff Scott Sebring says the owner had pulled the tractor into a shed as a joy stick had frozen up. The owner put a portable propane heater on it and left forabout fie minutes and returned and found the tractor on fire.

The tractor was pulled out of the shed while it was on fire to avoid further damage.
