Three finalists selected for director of the South Dakota Art Museum

Three finalists have been selected for the position of director of the South Dakota Art Museum. They will visit the South Dakota State University campus in the next two weeks.

The three candidates are Jodi Lundgren, a fifth-generation South Dakotan with 15 years of experience in art museums. She has served as the exhibition coordinator at the South Dakota Art Museum for the past six years.

David Schmitz has served as executive director for the Dubuque Museum of Art in Dubuque, Iowa, since 2015. He has been active in the Iowa arts community for more than a decade.

Nicole Herden is the curator of art at the Boise Art Museum, where she has worked for nearly 10 years. She previously worked at the Phoenix Art Museum and Arizona State University Art Museum.

While on campus, the candidates will meet with university administration, deans, faculty, staff and students. The interviews will also include open forums for each individual to engage with community and university stakeholders.

More information and open forum times are on the SDSU website.
