Three Elkton men hurt in a Tuesday morning crash

Three Elkton men are injured in a single vehicle rollover accident west of Elkton on Highway 13.

Assistant Sheriff Scott Sebring says it happened at around 6:20 Tuesday morning near the intersection with 483rd Avenue.

No one was found at the scene of the rollover and a search was conducted. A short time later, dispatch was notified that three people had been brought to the hospital by private vehicle.

The pickup involved had been heading west on Highway 13 when the driver, 33-year-old Jose Jiminez Munguia, lost control, went into the ditch and rolled.

Munguia and a front seat passenger, 35-year-old Yoni Alvarado were wearing seatbelts and were treated for minor injuries. A back seat passenger, 23-year-old Nison Adonal Lopez, was not wearing a seatbelt and was thrown from the pickup. Lopez was later transported to a Sioux Falls Hospital.

Munguia is facing a no valid driver’s license charge.
