Three COVID-19 deaths reported Wednesday in South Dakota; active cases fall below 1500

Three COVID-19 deaths reported in South Dakota Wednesday, the total is now 1976.

Active cases in Brookings County drop by 11 to 71. Total cases increase by 3 to 4198. There have been 37 deaths in Brookings County and there are 4090 recovered cases. The ever hospitalized number is at 153. The County is in the “substantial” community spread category.

Statewide, active cases decrease by 67 to 1445. Total cases increase by 99 to 123,073. There are 119,712 recovered cases. Current Hospitalizations decrease by 1 to 102.

Fifty-five percent of the state has received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine. Some 604,903 vaccinations have been administered in the state to 331,863 people. A total of 23,218 doses have been given in Brookings County to 13,486 people.
