Ten COVID-19 deaths reported in South Dakota Tuesday; active cases continue to fall

Ten COVID-19 deaths reported in South Dakota Tuesday. The statewide total is now 2660.

Active cases in Brookings County decrease by 126 to 1309. There were 40 new cases reported Tuesday, raising the total to 7868. Recovered cases are at 6516. There have been 43 deaths reported in Brookings County. The County is in the “high” community spread category.

Statewide, active cases decrease by 1680 to 30,559. Total cases increase by 1756 to 228,169. There are 194,950 recovered cases. Current hospitalizations decrease by 27 to 366.

Seventy percent of the state’s eligible population has received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine. Fifty-seven percent have completed a vaccine series and 30-percent have received a booster.
