The March term of the South Dakota Supreme Court will be Held at South Dakota State University on March 22nd and 23rd.

The Court will hear oral arguments in four cases on each day.

Among the cases to be heard on Wednesday, a civil matter between Kevin Costner and artist Peggy Detmers.

Detmers claims Costner breached a contract when he placed commissioned sculptures of bison and American Indians at a different site than originally agreed upon. They were to be placed at a planned resort that Costner never built. The sculptures are instead at his Tatanka attraction near Deadwood. Detmers says she spent more than six years creating the artwork and gave Costner a price break because she anticipated selling smaller sculptures at the resort.

The sessions will be held in the Oscar Larson Performing Arts Center.

Booklets containing a schedule of the cases to be heard and a short synopsis of each case will be made available for those attending.
