Small Business disaster loans available in Brookings, 15 other counties

Small Business Association Economic Injury Disaster Loans are available to South Dakota small businesses in 16 counties, including Brookings County.

These loans offset economic losses because of reduced revenues caused by drought.

The primary counties are: Beadle, Jerauld, Kingsbury and Sanborn while the neighboring counties of Aurora, Brookings, Brule, Buffalo, Clark, Davison, Hamlin, Hand, Hanson, Lake, Miner and Spink are also eligible.

SBA eligibility covers the economic impacts on businesses dependent on farmers and ranchers and businesses directly impacted by the drought.

Small nonfarm businesses, small agricultural cooperatives, small businesses engaged in aquaculture and most private nonprofit organizations may qualify for the Disaster Loans of up to $2 million.

Applicants may apply online, receive additional disaster assistance information and download applications at the SBA website.
