Slick roads lead to several accidents in Brookings

Winter weather apparently caught several Brookings drivers by surprise Tuesday afternoon.

Assistant Police Chief Derrick Powers says there were six, non injury accidents reported in less than two hours, from about 3:45 p.m. to 5:30.

There were also accidents reported on I-29 and Highway 14. No word as yet on the extent of any injuries in those crashes.

People are coping better this morning. Powers says there were not any accidents reported in town through the early morning hours.
