Six COVID-19 deaths reported Monday; active cases climb

Six COVID-19 death reported in South Dakota Monday, raising the total to 2241.

Active cases in Brookings County increase by six to 117. Nine new cases reported, raising the total to 5141. Recovered cases are at 4985. There have been 39 deaths in Brookings County. The County is in the “high” community spread category.

Statewide, active cases increase by 62 to 5483. Total cases are up by 403 to 154,885. There are 147,161 recovered cases. Current hospitalizations increase by 18 to 205.

Sixty-seven percent of the state’s eligible population has received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.
