Richard Tuve

A Sioux Falls man is facing several charges after the vehicle he was driving ends up in the ditch near Arlington.

Assistant Brookings County Sheriff Scott Sebring says the Sheriff’s Office, assisted by the South Dakota Highway Patrol and Kingsbury County Sheriff’s Office, responded to a vehicle in the ditch with two men inside that seemed impaired and had a rifle.

Initially, the two wouldn’t follow directions from Law Enforcement. The driver eventually complied and got out.

He’s identified as 33 year old Richard Tuve of Sioux Falls. He was found to be under the influence of a narcotic and in possession of a loaded firearm. He was taken into custody and arrested for DUI, possession of a controlled substance, ingesting a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a loaded firearm while intoxicated, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He was also arrested on two outstanding warrants.

The passenger was evaluated by the Arlington Ambulance and then released.
