Yep, the lowercase “de” is correct in his last name, it’s not a typo. Growing up he had teachers that would dock him points on assignments for thinking he misspelled his own name! So for all the grammar/punctuation trolls out there, the spelling is correct.
As graduate of Brookings High School he was voted “most likely to be the next Howard Stern”. In reality, his only claim to fame is living in a van for three years. During vanlife he traveled to all 50 States (49 States in the van) and Western Canada. The purpose to vanlife was for him to run trails in the mountains and explore as much of this beautiful country as possible.
Joel joined the KCountry and Brookings Radio team after wrapping up his vanlife journey back in 2017.
