Seven COVID-19 deaths reported in SD Monday; active cases continue to fall

Seven COVID-19 deaths reported in South Dakota Monday. The statewide total is now 2834.

Active cases in Brookings County decrease by three to 103. One new case reported Monday, the total is 8070. Recovered cases are at 7916. There have been 51 deaths reported in Brookings County. The County is in the “moderate” community spread category.

Statewide, active cases decrease by 100 to 3654. Total cases increase by 75 to 236,351. There are 229,863 recovered cases. Current hospitalizations decrease by five to 122.

Seventy-one percent of the state’s eligible population has received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine. Fifty-eight percent have completed a vaccine series and 32-percent have received a booster.
