Fire extensively damages a rural Volga shed and vehicles.
Brookings County assistant Sheriff Scott Sebring says it was reported shortly after 7:00 o’clock Monday morning at 46537 214th Street.
The Volga Fire Department and Brookings ambulance also responded to the scene. Sebring says the fire originated in a semi truck that was parked in the shed. There was also a 2018 pickup truck, a fifth wheel camper, a tractor and loader, and another tractor parked in the shed. All received extensive damage.
The total estimated damage to the shed and vehicles is around $270,000.
The fire appeared to have started in the engine compartment of the Semi, but the exact cause is not known.
