Race for Brookings City Council taking shape

It appears there will be a Brookings City Council Election this year.

Both incumbents, Holly Tilton-Byrne and Mary Kidwiler have filed for reelection.

In addition, Leah Brink has announced her intention to run and says she has filed her petitions.

Thus far, three people have filed for the three open positions on the Brookings School Board.

Board President Melissa Heermann and incumbent Van Fishback have filed for three-year terms.

Wes Tschetter, who was appointed to the Board, has filed to run for a one-year term.

Friday is the deadline and the city/school election is April Ninth.
