The Brookings County Sheriff’s Office says three people were injured when a vehicle crashed into a House in White.

Assistant Sheriff Scott Sebring says it happened shortly after 1:00 o’clock Monday morning. A pickup driven by 19-year-old Justin Granum of Brookings left the road at a high rate of speed and rammed into the house on the 400 Block of North Hooker Avenue.

The impact moved the entire building off its foundation, severely damaging the house and destroying many items in the residence. No one was home at the time.

The three occupants of the pickup were taken by a private party to the Brookings Hospital.

Granum was arrested for DUI, Failure to Maintain Financial Responsibility, Reckless Driving, Open Container and Underage Possession of Alcohol.

One passenger was issued a citation for Open Container and Underage Possession
of Alcohol.

Damage from this incident is estimated to be at least $150,000.
