One COVID-19 death reported Wednesday; active cases fall

One COVID-19 death reported in South Dakota Wednesday. The total is now 1864.

Active cases in Brookings County decrease by 7 to 59. Five new cases reported, increasing the total 3571. There have been 36 deaths in Brookings County and there are 3476 recovered cases. The ever hospitalized number is at 124. The County is in the substantial community spread category.

Statewide, active cases decrease by 47 to 1891. Total cases have increased by 263 to 111,808. The number of people who have recovered is 108,053. Current hospitalizations increase by 11 to 102.

Some 191,874 vaccinations have been administered in the state to 127,096 people. A total of 4898 doses have been given in Brookings County to 3283 people.
