One COVID-19 death reported Tuesday; big drop in active cases

One COVID-19 death reported in South Dakota Tuesday. The total is now 1779.

Active cases in Brookings County decrease by 9 to 126. Total cases are up by 7 to 3430. There have been 34 deaths in Brookings County and there are 3270 recovered cases. The ever hospitalized number is at 120. The County is in the substantial community spread category.

Statewide, active cases drop by 228 to 2600. Total cases have increased by 118 to 108,431. The number of people who have recovered is 104,052. Current hospitalizations increase by 5 to 131.

Some 101,489 vaccinations have been administered in the state to 71,522 people. A total of 2777 doses have been given in Brookings County to 1889 people.
