One COVID-19 death reported in South Dakota Tuesday; active cases still climbing

One COVID-19 death reported in South Dakota Tuesday. The statewide total is now 2560.

Active cases in Brookings County increase by 113 to 1281. There were 119 new cases reported Tuesday, raising the total to 6975. Recovered cases are at 5653. There have been 41 deaths reported in Brookings County. The County is in the “high” community spread category.

Statewide, active cases increase by 1978 to 28,813. Total cases increase by 2265 to 205,402. There are 174,029 recovered cases. Current hospitalizations decrease by one to 348.

Sixty-nine percent of the state’s eligible population has received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine. Fifty-six percent have completed a vaccine series and 28-percent have received a booster.
