One COVID-19 death in South Dakota Thursday; active cases continue to fall

One COVID-19 death reported in South Dakota Thursday, the total is now 1977.

Active cases in Brookings County drop by two and are at 69. Total cases increase by 5 to 4203. There have been 37 deaths in Brookings County and there are 4097 recovered cases. The ever hospitalized number is at 153. The County is in the “substantial” community spread category.

Statewide, active cases decrease by 76 to 1309. Total cases increase by 74 to 123,157. There are 119,871 recovered cases. Current Hospitalizations decrease by 12 to 90.

Fifty-five percent of the state has received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine. Some 608,540 vaccinations have been administered in the state to 332,582 people. A total of 23,346 doses have been given in Brookings County to 13,494 people.
