One Brookings business fails latest alcohol compliance check

Brookings police conducted compliance checks at 17 Brookings on and off-sale liquor and malt beverage license holders on Friday.

One of those establishments, Casey’s General Store at 122 6th Street, sold alcohol to the underage buyer.

In these cases, the clerk is usually cited for furnishing alcohol to a minor and the business faces possible fines and sanctions from the South Dakota Department of Revenue.

The businesses that were checked were all notified.
