Nine COVID-19 deaths reported Tuesday in South Dakota; active cases increase

Nine COVID-19 deaths reported in South Dakota Tuesday, the total is now 2318.

Active cases in Brookings County increase by 10 to 134. Twenty-six new cases reported today. The total is now 5308. Recovered cases are at 5135. There have been 39 deaths in Brookings County. The County is in the “high” community spread category.

Statewide, active cases increase by 85 to 6950. Total cases increase by 931 to 163,721. There are 154,453 recovered cases. Current hospitalizations increase by seven to 230.

Tuesday’s numbers include those recorded over the weekend.

Seventy-one-percent of the state’s eligible population has received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.
