Nine COVID-19 deaths reported in SD Tuesday; active cases fall below 100 in Brookings County

Nine COVID-19 deaths reported in South Dakota Tuesday. The statewide total is now 2843.

Active cases in Brookings County decrease by four to 99. Three new cases reported Tuesday, the total is 8073. Recovered cases are at 7923. There have been 51 deaths reported in Brookings County. The County is in the “moderate” community spread category.

Statewide, active cases decrease by 299 to 3355. Total cases increase by 81 to 236,432. There are 230,234 recovered cases. Current hospitalizations decrease by two to 120.

Seventy-one percent of the state’s eligible population has received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine. Fifty-eight percent have completed a vaccine series and 32-percent have received a booster.
