Niemeyer files for reelection for Mayor of Brookings

Brookings Mayor Ope Niemeyer has filed for reelection, seeking his second term.

Also, Al Austreim has filed for City Council.

Up for election this year are the Mayor and Two City Council seats. All are three-year terms.

Niemeyer is the current Mayor, the Council seats are held by Nick Wendell and Wayne Avery.

The deadline to file petitions is Friday, February 23, 2024 by 5:00 p.m. at the City Clerk’s Office.
