Nick Schmeichel files for Brookings City Council

Three people have filed thus far for the April 13th City Election. Nick Schmeichel and Nate Holden have filed to run for City Counicil and Ope Niemeyer has filed for Mayor.

The seats currently held byCouncil Members Patty Bacon and Nick Wendell are up this year. Current Mayor Keith Corbett is not seeking reelection.

There will be a Brookings School Board Election this year as three people have now filed for the two available seats. Incumbent Debra DeBates has filed as have Keli Books and Jade Withers.

The second seat is currently held by Roger DeGroot.

Nominating petitions for the City and School Election must be filed by Friday, February 26 at 5:00 p.m.
