The head coach for the Mitchell Post 18 Legion baseball team and a member of the Mitchell Baseball Association board are facing charges for failing to report alleged crimes.

Pennington County State’s Attorney Lara Roetzel alleges that 43-year old Luke Norden and 48-year old Jeremy Borgan had “knowledge of crimes and, as mandated reporters, did not immediately report to law enforcement.”

Norden, the coach of the team, is charged with two counts of failure to report abuse or neglect of a child and two counts of misprision of a felony.

Borgan is charged with one count of failure to report abuse or neglect of a child.

Arrest warrants were issued Tuesday.

Last week, six members of the Mitchell Post 18 baseball team pleaded not guilty in Rapid City to rape charges involving two 16-year-old boys.
