Minnesota man injured in parcel truck accident on Highway 14 near Brookings

A Minnesota man is injured when the package delivery truck he was driving rolled on Highway 14, about four miles east of Brookings.

Assistant Brookings County Sheriff Scott Sebring says it happened shortly after 5:30 Wednesday morning near the intersection of Highway 14 and 477th Avenue.

He says the driver, 53-year-old Mohamed Hassan of Shakopee, Minnesota, lost control of the box truck which went into the drich and rolled.

Hassan was taken by ambulance to the Brookings Hospital.

The truck was hauling a bulk delivery of Amazon packages, which spilled into the ditch.
The United States Postal Service from Sioux Falls and Brookings responded to the scene and collected all the packages. It’s unknown how many of the packages were damaged.

There is an estimated $28,000 damage to the truck.

The Aurora Fire Department and Brookings Ambulance also responded to the accident.
