Merkley and Ruesch win awards

Two Brookings Health System officials are recognized at a recent state convention.

Health System CEO & President Jason Merkley and Quality Director Sandra Ruesch, RN, were given awards at the 2019 South Dakota Association of Healthcare Organizations Annual Convention in Sioux Falls.

Merkley received the American College of Healthcare Executives Senior-Level Healthcare Executive Regent’s Award. It recognizes members who have made significant contributions to the advancement of healthcare management excellence.

Ruesch received the South Dakota Association for Healthcare Quality’s Quality Professional of the Year award. It’s presented to a member who provides leadership, promotes professional ethics, communicates knowledge in areas of quality improvement and mentors others.
