Marshall, MN woman injured in Sunday stabbing has died

A Marshall, Minnesota woman who was stabbed and taken to a Sioux Falls hospital last weekend has died from her injuries.

Police were called to a Marshall residence Sunday for a domestic disturbance.

An officer arrived to find 41-year-old Jamel Moore in the act of stabbing 35-year-old Meredith Martell.

The officer first used his Taser on Moore when he refused orders to drop the knife. Authorities say the Taser was not enough to stop the ongoing assault and the officer shot Moore twice.

Moore died at the scene.

The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension is investigating the officer’s use of force.
