Man killed while driving a riding mower on a state highway

A man driving a riding lawnmower on on a highway in southern Miner County was killed in a crash Wednesday afternoon.

According to the South Dakota Highway Patrol, an SUV was southbound on S.D. Highway 25. The riding lawnmower was also southbound on the highway in the lane of travel. The SUV rear-ended the lawnmower.

The 66-year-old man on the lawnmower was pronounced dead at the scene.

The 37-year-old driver of the SUV was not injured.

Names have not yet been released.
