Man killed in Saturday’s crash near Arlington was from Michigan

The South Dakota Department of Public Safety says an Auburn Hills, Michigan man is the person who died Saturday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash west of Arlington.
Twenty-nine-year-old Jeffery Demers was the driving a van that was hit head-on by a pickup that crossed the center line. Demers was pronounced dead at the scene.
Fifteen-year-old Jacob Jaton of Nunda was driving the pickup and was not injured. Both drivers were wearing seatbelts.
Charges are pending against Jaton.
The Highway Patrol continues to investigate the crash.
