Man killed in motorcycle/car collision near Madison was from Worthington, MN

A Worthington, Minnesota man has been identified as the person who died Saturday, July first, in a two-vehicle crash seven miles southeast of Madison.

The South Dakota Highway patrol reports a minivan, northbound on South Dakota Highway 19 slowed to turn left at an intersection. A motorcycle that was behind it collided with the rear driver side door of the minivan. The motorcycle driver was thrown from the bike and was struck by the van. Both vehicles came to rest in the ditch.

The driver of the motorcycle, 44-year-old Joseph Sanow, was pronounced dead at an area hospital. He was wearing a helmet.

The driver of the minvan received minor injuries. She was wearing a seatbelt.
