A man is injured in a Sunday afternoon accident just south of Volga.

According to Assistant Sheriff Scott Sebring, a pickup driven by 24-year-old Zachary Perry of Bruce was headed north on 465th Avenue. A westbound car driven by 20-year-old Alyssa Hoebelheinrich of Le Mars, Iowa was unable to stop at the uncontrolled intersection and hit the pickup on the front drivers side.

The pickup rolled several times and Perry, who was not wearing a seat belt, was thrown from the vehicle. He was taken by ambulance to the Brookings Hospital. A 23-year-old passenger in the pickup was checked at the scene but was not taken to the hospital.

Hoebelheinrich was cited for failure to yield the right of way at an intersection.
