A Brookings man is arrested after reportedly displaying what appeared to be a handgun at a downtown bar.
Assistant Chief of Police Derrick Powers says it was reported at about 1:00 o’clock Saturday morning at an establishment on the 300 block of Main Street.
A man had pulled a gun out of his waistband, waved in in the air and then put it back. He had left the bar by the time police arrived. They located him at another establishment.
The gun turned out to be an airsoft pistol and the 26-year-old was arrested for disorderly conduct. Powers says the pistol looks almost exactly like a Glock 9mm handgun.
