SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) – A Sioux Falls man is accused of shooting at people who stole his cell phone.

Police say the 21-year-old man is facing charges of reckless discharge of a firearm and firing a weapon within city limits. Authorities say the man set up a meeting to sell his phone to a person at a Sioux Falls gas station. But the people who showed up took the phone without paying and ran to a vehicle.

The man shot at them, but didn’t hit anyone. Police responded to the shooting and found shell casings on the ground. But all the parties had left the scene. Investigators connected the man to the shooting by reviewing surveillance video.
