Grant County crews make floodwater rescue

A reminder from Grant County on why you should not drive through water on a flooded roadway.

Grant County Emergency Management reports that Milbank Fire and Big Stone Fire were dispatched Wednesday for a car in the water with a person inside. The vehicle had been pushed well off the roadway by the running water.

The Big Stone City Fire/Water Rescue team entered the water with an inflatable boat and was able to rescue the victim.

Many rural roads in eastern South Dakota are currently closed because of high water from snow melt.
