Four new COVID-19 deaths reported in South Dakota since Friday; active cases climbing

Four new COVID-19 deaths reported in South Dakota since Friday. The total is now 1900.

Active cases in Brookings County increase by 1 to 64. Twelve new cases have been reported since Friday, raising the total to 3,621. There have been 37 deaths in Brookings County and there are 3,520 recovered cases. The ever hospitalized number is at 128. The County is in the “moderate” community spread category.

Statewide, active cases increase by 62 to 2158. Total cases have increased by 360 since Friday to 113,229. The number of people who have recovered is 109,531. Current hospitalizations decreased by 2 to 72.

Some 260,321 vaccinations have been administered in the state to 168,787 people. A total of 7492 doses have been given in Brookings County to 5092 people.
