Four COVID-19 deaths reported in SD Thursday; statewide hospitalizations drop below 100

Four COVID-19 death reported in South Dakota Thursday. The statewide total is now 2848.

Active cases in Brookings County decrease by four to 91. One new case reported Thursday, the total is 8076. Recovered cases are at 7934. There have been 51 deaths reported in Brookings County. The County is in the “moderate” community spread category.

Statewide, active cases decrease by 121 to 3117. Total cases increase by 51 to 236,552. There are 230,587 recovered cases. Current hospitalizations decrease by 16 to 96.

Seventy-one percent of the state’s eligible population has received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine. Fifty-eight percent have completed a vaccine series and 32-percent have received a booster.
