Four businesses sell to an underage buyer in an an alcohol compliance check conducted by the Brookings Police Department on Thursday afternoon and evening.

Assistant Police Chief Derrick Powers says a total of 15 businesses were checked. He says the four that sold to the underage buyer were Tee’d Off Golf, Guadalajara’s, Mama Mia and The Wild Hare.

In each case, the employee involved was cited for furnishing alcohol to a minor. The businesses face possible fines and sanctions from the South Dakota Department of Revenue.

The last compliance check done by Brookings police was in February of last year when 15 businesses were checked and one sold to the underage buyer.
