Five COVID-19 deaths reported since Friday in South Dakota, including the 1st in Brookings County

Five COVID-19 deaths reported in South Dakota since Friday, raising the state’s total to 135. It includes the first coronavirus death in Brookings County. That was reported Saturday.

In addition, there have been six new cases in Brookings County since Friday. The total is 119 and active cases increased by 5 and are currently at 11. Total negatives from Brookings County are 2523.

Statewide, active cases increased by 38 over the weekend to 911. Total positives increased by 190 to 8955. The number of people who have recovered is now 7909. Current hospitalizations increased by four and are at 35. Total negative cases in the state are 104,998.
