Five COVID-19 deaths reported in South Dakota Wednesday. The total is now 2019.

Active cases in Brookings County decrease by 3 to 9. There are no new cases, the total remains 4231. There have been 37 deaths in Brookings County and there are 4185 recovered cases. The ever hospitalized number is at 158. The County is in the “moderate” community spread category.

Statewide, active cases go down by 82 to 300. Total cases increase by 36 to 124,227. There are 121,908 recovered cases. Current hospitalizations drop by 3 to 41.

Fifty-five percent of the state has received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine. Some 655,517 vaccinations have been administered in the state to 352,451 people. A total of 26,426 doses have been given in Brookings County to 14,468 people.
