Five COVID-19 deaths reported in South Dakota Friday; one new active case in Brookings County

Five additional COVID-19 deaths reported in South Dakota Friday. The state’s total is now 59. Four of today’s deaths were reported in Minnehaha County and one in Beadle County.

Active cases increased by 22 to 1063.

Total positive cases increased by 77 to 4866. The number of people who have recovered is 3744 and current hospitalizations are at 95. The “ever hospitalized” category is at 418. A total of 35,816 negative tests have been reported.

One new case in Brookings County today. There are now two active cases and 16 total. There have been 647 negative tests reported from the county.
