Five Brookings establishments fail September alcohol compliance checks

Through the month of September, the Brookings Police Department conducted alcohol compliance checks at 41 on and off-sale establishments within the City of Brookings.

Five of those license holders had an employee sell to an underage buyer and the employee was cited for furnishing alcohol to a minor. Those establishments are:  6th Street Casey’s, La Cantina, Applebee’s, Buffalo Wild Wings, and The Depot.

In these cases, the business faces possible fines and sanctions from the South Dakota Department of Revenue.

The other 36 establishments all passed the alcohol compliance checks.
